    Rules for Being Human

    At one of my first Transformational Energy Healing classes, a former student shared the following with us:
     
    Rules for Being Human
     
    1.  You will receive a body.  You may like it or hate it, but it will be yours for the entire period this time around.
     
    2.  You will learn lessons.  You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called Life.  Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.
     
    3.  There are no mistakes, only lessons.  Growth is a process of trial and error and experimentation.  The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately "works".
     
    4.  A lesson will be repeated until it is learned.  A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it.  When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.
     
    5.  Learning lessons does not end.  There is no part of Life that does not contain its lessons.  If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.
     
    6.  "There" is no better than "here".  When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here". 
     
    7.  Others are simply mirrors of you.  You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
     
    8.  What you make of your life is up to you.  You have all the tools and resources you need.   What you make of them is up to you.  The choice is yours.
     
    9.  Your answers lie inside you.  The answers to life's questions lie inside you.  All you have to do is look, listen, and trust.
     
    10.  You will forget all this.

    I have a couple very close friends who are big into energy work. I'll be back, and recommending your site to them as well. Glad you are posting again -- you have made quite an impression around this part of the Internet, I'll tell you.

    It's bad enough to face the fact that I will, at least once a day, forget or lose a vital something or other in the course of my day. The thought that I forgot some essential spiritual truths before I came here to this plane is sad. But losing my car keys or forgetting something I'll need and leaving it at home, well, that's just plain maddening.

    Yes, I know that about Go Dogs Go! - which is why I sadly left it at home on Dr. Seuss' b-day this spring when we were celebrating his books in the K/1 class - but I'm positive he illustrated it.  I got it a Seuss book anyways because it's the first in the "series" both my kids could read from front to back.

     

    I researched Dr. Seuss for a kid's lit class so I ended up getting to know his bio quite well - cool story.  And now I will sign this so I can go read your spirituality QandA and how Vanita's doing.
